I am delighted to be the curriculum director for physical education, health education, and driver education for District 218.  As an old (well, maybe I'll use the word "former") physical education teacher, I have a great passion for, and a great belief in, the importance of the physical health and development of a person.  And I strongly believe that the healthier one is, the more he or she will achieve and the happier he or she will be. 

We are certainly in an interesting time and a challenging time.  In the education world alone, the federal mandate known as No Child Left Behind has dominated our thoughts and energies, yet we still must focus on health, safety, and the psycho-social and physical fitness of our children.  

As educators, I believe that we can make an extremely positive difference in the lives of our youngsters.  And I'll do my absolute best to do what I can to make their high school experiences richer, healthier, more rewarding, and an excellent preparation for what comes next.
